MOUNTAIN FLOWERS
ALL flowers uplift and make us feel greater joy and happiness. My mom identified this funny little flower as "Love in a Tangle." It is also known as Dodder, and its botanical name is Cuscuta Compacta. I shot it on the Water Rock Knob Trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Balsam, NC. It is the twining parasitic yellowish flowering vine with growing on top of other plants. This is a Carolina Lily (Lilium Michauxii) which is similar to the Turk's Cap Lily. I shot this on the Cabin Flats Trail in Balsam, NC.
This is a Monarda that I also shot on the Cabin Flats Trail. There was a sweet little waterfall behind it, but my little automatic camera kept wanting to focus on the waterfall; so, I had to change the composition. This is a Flame Azalea (Rhododendron Calendulaceum) from the botanical gardens in the Oconaluftee Village in Cherokee, NC. The plaque next to the flowers reads: "The Cherokee rubbed a warm tincture, Flam Azalea dissolved in alcohol, on effected joints to treat the pain of rheumatism." So, that's just a wee floral travel log. I saw and photographed many, many more flowers. These are some highlights. This week, I hope you'll join me on my f.r.e-e call on Flower Meditation. On this call, I'll share why these focused energy tools are so powerful and will walk you through all the "how to" aspects as well. On the call, I'll lead a full flower meditation; so, if you have any suggested topics, please share when you sign up. Please click here to reserve your spot on the call. Spaces are limited! An Affirmation: With open eyes and heart, I see beauty all around me.
